good morning Hillside Avenue school today is Wednesday February 23rd please I pledge of allegiance to the flag picture of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all attention students this is way back Wednesday let's go October 2nd 1967 Thurgood Marshall sworn in the first black Supreme Court Justice his words were Thurgood Marshall do solemnly to affirm that administer Justice without respect to persons and do equal rights to the poor and to the rich and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all duties income upon me as a associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court according to the best of my abilities and understanding agreeably to the Constitution and the laws of the United States so help me God as a young boy Thurgood Marshall was top appreciation for the Constitution and law by his father he went on to receive a law degree from Howard University where he was encouraged by mentor to apply. 2 / turn on just lost he was successful and getting the first black student admitted to the University of Maryland law school a school that also rejected Marshall because of his color she argued Brown versus Board of Education and one and overturn case after case throughout the country and an end segregation before joining the Supreme Court 70 things about did you and my sister have a great one
