Anti-bullying Bill of Rights
On January 5, 2011 Governor Chris Christie signed into law P.L. 2010, Chapter 122 known as the Anti-bullying Bill of Rights. This law requires that schools respond to all reports of harassment, intimidation or bullying (HIB) within strict timelines. Districts must appoint an Anti-Bullying Specialist and School Safety Team to address HIB in each school as well as a District-wide Anti-Bullying Coordinator. Under the law, anti-bullying training, education and prevention programs are required for all students and staff members.
